Ayer DPW Sets Fall Hydrant Flushing for Week of Aug. 31
AYER — Ayer's Department of Public Works says it will begin its annual fall hydrant flushing program the week of Aug. 31, according to a notice posted to the town website this week. The announcement comes as four town boards prepare to meet over the next several days.

The Department of Public Works announced that its fall hydrant flushing program will begin the week of Aug. 31, 2026, part of the town's routine maintenance of the water distribution system. The notice was posted to the town's News Flash page alongside earlier advisories on West Nile virus and the now-lifted Lincoln Hills stop-work order.
COMING UP
Four town boards have meetings on the calendar over the next several days. The Planning Board meets Tuesday, Aug. 25. The Ayer Housing Authority and the Affordable Housing Trust both meet Wednesday, Aug. 26. The Conservation Commission meets Thursday, Aug. 27.
