Ayer Library Adds Thursday Evening Hours Starting Sept. 1

AYER — Ayer Public Library will begin staying open Thursday evenings until 8 p.m. starting Sept. 1, adding a weekly evening slot for residents who cannot get to the library during the day.

The library announced the schedule change Aug. 28, saying the new Thursday evening hours are meant to widen access ahead of the fall season. The library, a member of the CW MARS network, did not detail whether staffing or other hours would shift alongside the addition.

Ayer's Industrial Development Financing Authority meets Friday, Aug. 28, according to the town's online calendar. The Select Board meets Monday, Aug. 31, the same week the Department of Public Works begins its fall hydrant-flushing program.
