Ayer Library Trustees approve treasurer's report, discuss 501(c)(3) governance and space planning.
Library Trustees · Meeting of April 9, 2026
Ayer Library Trustees approve treasurer's report and chart governance path. The board voted unanimously to accept the Treasurer's Report showing $194,552.19 in closing fund balances and the Director's Report from Luke Kirkland. The Trustees discussed incorporating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and decided hiring a local CPA at reduced hourly rates would be more efficient than external counsel's recommendation.
Chair Andy Wilson reported the federal government dropped an appeal of library funding, though the new budget contains slashes. Kirkland presented strategic planning research and toured the facility to evaluate space reconfiguration for additional meeting rooms.
