Ayer Tax Taking Set for June 30 as Collector Posts Formal Notice

A notice posted on the town's official website warns that a formal tax taking is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, at noon at Town Hall. Property owners with outstanding tax balances should contact the Collector of Taxes office before that date to avoid the action.

Also still in effect: mandatory water restrictions that took effect May 1, 2026, remain on the books. Residents are reminded to follow current outdoor water use rules as summer demand rises. The town's 2025 Water Quality Report is now available for review on the town website for anyone who wants to check on local water standards heading into the summer months.

Summer is officially underway at Ayer Public Library. The library kicked off its summer season with a carnival on June 20 featuring Ed the Wizard, a bounce house, and a plant and seed swap. The library also continues to offer free 3D printing through a Prusa CORE One printer, made possible by the Friends of the Ayer Library.
