Board of Assessors approves routine exemptions and abatements

Ayer Board of Assessors approves routine motor vehicle abatements and tax exemptions. Chairman Nicholas P. Laggis and Member James Wood unanimously signed off on administrative matters including 111 March abatements totaling $21,145.70.

The board approved Motor Vehicle Excise Commitments totaling $170,836.23 for fiscal 2026 and statutory exemptions worth $3,221.93, including one new and one returning senior exemption. Assessing Administrator April Iannacone corrected prior exemption calculations to match actual transactions. The board deferred its next meeting pending the May election.
