AYER — Board of Health approves motel permit after police review. The board voted 2-0 to issue a permit for Nashoba Valley Inns and Suites, with Police Chief Brian Gill reporting increased police calls to the property but finding the activity comparable to other towns. Gill noted a rise in medical calls due to elderly residents but said the manager has been responsive and supportive.
The board also approved permits for Jack O'Lantern tobacco sales and an animal and fowl operation at 15 Sandy Pond Road, both unanimously.
