Board of Health approves two animal and fowl permits

Ayer Board of Health approves two chicken and duck keeping permits unanimously. Chair Pamela L. Papineau and members Patricia A.
Peters and Steve Slarsky voted unanimously to grant a permit for ten chickens at 6 Fletcher Street and a permit for twenty chickens and eight ducks at 51 Groton School Road, each application meeting all regulatory requirements. The board also approved meeting minutes from April and June and renewed four existing permits. District Sanitarian Bridgette Pontbriand was absent from the meeting; call log items included grocery-store mold, residential trash and odor complaints, and rat activity on Rogers Street.
