CPC approves $1M in FY2027 fund distributions for spring warrant

Ayer CPC unanimously approves $1.26 million in spring warrant articles. The Community Preservation Committee endorsed the distribution of $1,026,670 in FY2027 fund revenue, with allocations to open space and recreation ($102,667), historical resources ($102,667), and community housing ($102,667), along with $667,336 to the undesignated reserve. Chair Janet Providakes noted the town's 3 percent property-transfer surcharge, adopted in 2020, generates roughly $100,000 in additional annual state matching funds compared to the prior 1 percent rate.
The committee also approved $212,000 for the Ayer Affordable Housing Trust, split between a rental assistance program ($84,000) and the housing trust fund ($128,000), plus $25,000 for Sandy Pond Schoolhouse HVAC work.
