Ayer Library Trustees adopt personnel policies and fill vacancy. The board unanimously approved updates to personnel policies, including new Overview and Breaks sections, and voted to default to the town's definition of Family Medical Leave. Trustees voted 6-0 to appoint Brenda Richard, the sitting Treasurer, to fill a permanent vacant seat.
Director Luke Kirkland reported the library is launching a Speed Reads collection and has hired Melissa Guimont as Engagement Librarian for adult programming and community outreach. The board voted 5-0-1 to accept a Massachusetts Senate Amendment regarding governance and 501(c)(3) status for the library.
