Planning Board · Meeting of September 8, 2026

Ayer Planning Board voted unanimously on two items for the October 26 Fall Town Meeting warrant: town acceptance of Wright Road Extension from the Kohler Place subdivision and approval of zoning definitions for Aquifer Protection District and Impervious Surface. Town Planner Danny Ruiz confirmed the street project met Department of Public Works specifications except for engineering work and plan updates. The board also heard a presentation on a proposed Tree Preservation Bylaw requiring tree mitigation for developments, with a mitigation fund of $100 per inch of tree diameter and replanting ratios of 1:1 to 2:1 depending on tree size.

Conservation Agent Heather Hampson and Ruiz developed the bylaw over one year to fulfill Master Plan environmental goals.
