Ayer Select Board unanimously approves senior center CDBG grant and capital projects. The board backed the Community and Economic Development Department's pursuit of an estimated $850,000 annual federal grant for the proposed senior center construction. Members also authorized Public Works Director Dan Van Schalkwyk to proceed with a $29,801.70 change order for Grove Pond water treatment facility improvements and a $46,800 contract for wastewater plant filter tank work.
Town Manager Robert Pontbriand reported that FY 2027 budget preparations are underway with health insurance costs projected to rise 20 to 25 percent, though the state will provide approximately $845,000 to offset losses from the Nashoba Valley Medical Center closure.
