AYER — Select Board unanimously approves $900,000 in water infrastructure projects. The board, chaired by Jannice L. Livingston with members Christopher E.
Tavares and Shaun C. Copeland, authorized a $528,360 contract to CHB Excavating for the 2026 Water Main and Drainage Improvements project on Grove Street, along with change orders totaling $370,551.57 for Mill Street drainage work and Grove Pond Water Treatment Plant upgrades. Town Manager Robert A.
Pontbriand reported the April 27 Town Meeting approved all twenty-eight articles including the FY 27 budget, but flagged critical staffing gaps at Sandy Pond Beach, where only three of eleven required lifeguards have been hired ahead of the June 23 opening.
