Select Board approves water and sewer rate increases, clears IDFA reactivation funding.

Ayer Select Board unanimously approves three percent water and four percent sewer rate increases. The board also voted to place one million dollars in UDAG funding into a dedicated account to reactivate the Industrial Development Finance Authority, which will manage a local business loan fund under a future Board of Directors, according to minutes released by the town. Town Manager Robert Pontbriand was designated as the authorized signatory and Environmental Certifying Officer for a Community Development Block Grant increased to 950,000 dollars.
The board took no action on an out-of-town sewer connection request from Gregg Ganley, requiring him to first secure a variance from the Groton Zoning Board of Appeals.
