AYER — Select Board approves $700,480 in infrastructure contracts. The board unanimously voted to execute a $548,560 contract with CHB Excavating for the Bishop Road Water Main Extension and a $151,920 contract with ECF Construction for Mill Street Drainage Improvements, which addresses defects in a bridge-culvert closed since October 2025. The board also heard a NextGen Energy presentation on a community solar microgrid project involving multiple Massachusetts towns, with NextGen projecting annual municipal revenue of at least $1.5 million beginning year six of a 20-year partnership, though Chair Jannice L.
Livingston deferred detailed review to March 17. Two residents raised public concerns about investor identity, indemnification, and the pace of decision-making.
