AYER — Select Board imposes mandatory outdoor water restrictions effective May 1. Jannice L. Livingston, Chair, and Christopher E.
Tavares, Vice-Chair, voted unanimously to ban outside water use between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. with mandatory odd-even restrictions, required under the Water Management Act. Town Manager Robert Pontbriand reported that warrants for the April 26 Annual Town Meeting were mailed to 3,500 households covering twenty-eight articles and one citizens petition, and that a $900,000 CDBG grant application for the Senior Center was submitted. Livingston noted that the Keep the Lights on Massachusetts NextGen grant application for $5 million was submitted with eleven letters of support, with a decision expected in June.
