AYER — Select Board reorganizes and awards municipal contracts. The board elected Christopher E. Tavares as Chair, Jannice L.
Livingston as Vice-Chair, and Shaun C. Copeland as Clerk for the upcoming year, all unanimously. Town Manager Robert A.
Pontbriand reported the town locked in a new electric rate of $0.15040 per kilowatt-hour effective November 2026, up from the current $0.125 rate; the town budgeted for higher energy costs in FY 2027. The board unanimously approved awarding the 2026-2028 Grove Pond AIX Media Replacement contract to Calgon Carbon Corporation at $235,600 per vessel. The Sandy Pond Road Working Group presented a $1.6 million phased development plan for the town-owned property, with parking, fitness court, shelter, kayak launch, and splash pad, pending public forums in early summer and fall.
