Ayer Board of Assessors approves $21,000 in vehicle abatements and sets up parcel-by-parcel database audit. The board also approved motor vehicle excise Commitment 8 of 2025 for $8,308 and Commitment 2 of 2026 for $170,836.23, along with fiscal 2026 statutory exemptions totaling $3,221.93 for qualifying low-income and elderly residents.

Staff told the board a new Vision property assessment database is set to go live April 29, triggering a review of all roughly 3,390 Ayer parcels that staff estimated will take at least two months. The board said it will not schedule its next open meeting until after an upcoming local election, with no major business expected before the next tax commitment goes out in June.
