Ayer Planning Board Opens Senior Center Hearing, Approves Three Stormwater Waivers

AYER — April 28, 2026 — Ayer Planning Board opens senior center hearing and advances five development cases simultaneously. The board voted unanimously at its April 28 meeting to open a public hearing for a proposed approximately 13,000-square-foot senior center off Bishop Road, designed by DeVellis-Areen and architect John Catlin, featuring 103 parking spaces, two pickleball courts, ADA-accessible one-way circulation, a 100-year retention basin with zero off-site discharge, and a Title V septic system; the hearing was continued to May 26. The board also approved three unanimous waivers — traffic impact statement, photometric plan, and stormwater easement — for the 64 Littleton Road three-lot residential project and continued that hearing, along with the 50 Jackson Street single-family application, to a special May 5 meeting at 7 p.m. with board continuity after the May 12 election cited as the driving concern. The 20 Groton Harvard Road nine-unit multi-family hearing was opened and immediately continued to May 26 after staff discovered an error in abutter notification. Ayer Family Pharmacy owner Tracey Eveo appeared to support a 10-space parking addition at 7 Park Street; that hearing was continued to May 26 with waiver votes deferred.
